ROM+: We are all equal

Partner: Association of Greek Roma Mediators
Call: Protecting and Promoting EU rights and values
Project Duration: 12 months
Budget: 54.462,75€
Country: Greece
Location: National level

Despite the interventions implemented in recent decades and the adoption of strategies, Roma in Greece continue to face multiple forms of discrimination. The ongoing operation of the Observatory for the advocacy and protection of Roma Human Rights, established in 2021, affirms the challenges confronted by the community in various aspects of daily life, including employment, education, housing, and more. This reality is consistent with findings in relevant literature and research, highlighting the significant prevalence of racism, discrimination, and stereotypes encountered by the Roma community on a daily basis.

The project’s objective is to persist in collecting, analyzing, and forwarding reports on violations of the human rights of Roma to competent bodies. This effort will further contribute to the advocacy and protection of their human rights.

Target groups:

The target groups include Roma communities, Ministries, the General Secretariat for Social Solidarity and Combating Poverty, the Ombudsman, Community Centers, Municipalities, Regions, public and private organizations, as well as the general public.
