Promoting education is a strategic priority for Bodossaki Foundation and the Scholarships programme is one of its earliest programmes. To date, more than 2,600 scholarships have been granted to assist outstanding students, either in their final year of studies or graduates, to follow postgraduate, doctoral and postdoctoral studies in Greece or abroad, in the academic fields of their choice.

Every year, two Scholarships programmes invite applications from interested candidates:

  • The regular Scholarships Programme (for postgraduate and doctoral studies)
  • The “Stamatis G. Mantzavinos” Memorial Postdoctoral Scholarships Programme.

For the academic year 2023-2024, a new programme has been added and more specifically the Scholarships Programme for Scientific Research visits in universities or research centres outside of Greece for Scientists who live in Greece.

Through the new Scholarship Programme for Visiting Researchers, Bodossaki Foundation broadens its support for scientific research, addressing researchers who are university graduates still studying or active in Greece, who wish to visit universities or research centres abroad, in order to conduct research and learn about research methods, international research trends and technologies and/or to give lectures. The aim of the programme is to transfer and disseminate the acquired experience and knowledge to the Greek scientific community. The programme consists of short-term scholarships of up to 6 months’ duration, covering accommodation and travel expenses. The application period for the new Scholarship Programme for Visiting Researchers ended on 12 April 2023.
