The “Europe for 65+” project aims to raise public awareness of the rights of older people and inform both those aged 65 and above and civil society actors about age discrimination and the need for a National Plan on Ageing. Project activities include the creation of a handbook on the rights of older people based on EU principles and values, with the goal of disseminating knowledge to stakeholders and individuals aged 65 and above.
Target groups:
- People aged 65 and older from all regions of Greece
- Organizations and CSOs in Greece that deal with older adults and/or advocacy
- Other interested parties such as Local Government entities and state organizations involved in initiatives for aging
- The general public
Activities:
- Development of an accessible rights guide for individuals aged 65+, based on the EU charter and resolutions.
- Implementation of experiential learning seminars (online and in person) for older adults, reaching 184 participants aged 65+.
- Transnational collaboration with three EU organisations (Netherlands, Portugal, Spain), resulting in a comparative handbook on the rights and protection of older people in the participating countries.
- Awareness campaign #STOPAGEISM on Facebook and Instagram that included multimedia content (videos, posters, podcasts, reels) highlighting the impact of ageism and advocating for equal civic participation of older people.
