In order to further promote Education, the Scholarship Programme of the Bodossaki Foundation has been expanded to three levels: Masters and Doctoral Studies, Postdoctoral Research, Visiting Scholars | Inauguration of Scholarship Programmes

In its 51st year, the Bodossaki Foundation is increasing its commitment to the promotion of Education by expanding its Scholarship Programmes. For the academic period 2023-2024, the Foundation will offer scholarships at different three educational levels:

  1. Postgraduate and doctoral studies
  2. Postdoctoral Research
  3. Academic Research in university institutions or research centres abroad, for academics residing in Greece.

The students’ dreams begin with the Scholarship Programme for Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies, designed for graduate or final year students from all Schools and Departments in the University Sector of Higher Educational Institutions. This covers about 60 scholarships for pursuing studies in Greece and abroad. For those who dream of a career as a researcher or academic, the next step is supported by the Postdoctoral Research Scholarship Programme in memory of ‘Stamatis G. Mantzavinos’, which since 2008 has granted PhD holders four scholarships for research in Greece or abroad.

With the new Scholarship Programme for Visiting Research Scientists, the Bodossaki Foundation is offering even greater support for academic research, aimed at research scientists, graduates of Higher Educational Institutions still studying or operating in Greece, who wish to attend universities or research centres abroad in order to study the teaching of scientific methodology and modern international research trends and technologies, or to present and deliver lectures. The ultimate aim of the programme is for the experience and knowledge acquired to be transferred and disseminated among the Greek scientific community. The programme covers short-term scholarships, lasting up to 6 months, and covers accommodation and travel expenses.

The deadline for submitting applications for the 51st Scholarship Programme for Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies is February 15, 2023. For the Postdoctoral Research Scholarship Programme in memory of ‘Stamatis G. Mantzavinos’ the submission of applications will last until March 15, 2023, while the Scholarship Programme for Visiting Research Scientists will start in February 2023 with the deadline for applications on 12 April 2023.

Scholarships for full-time master’s or doctoral studies cover tuition fees and living costs in 20 modern scientific fields which are in high demand and have significant growth prospects. These include Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, Science Data and Digital Technologies, Targeted Drug Development, Bioinnovation, Nanotechnology, Energy Resource Management and Bioclimatic Design in Architecture.

According to the President of the Bodossaki Foundation, Ms. Athina Desypri, ‘The dreams of young people have always been at the heart of the Bodossaki Foundation’s work, and seeing them fulfilled is in line with our vision of providing equal opportunities for all. The Foundation’s scholarship programmes are updated annually, taking account of the latest developments in scientific fields and market demand, as well as the interests of young people. We are particularly happy that this year we are expanding our support of the scientific community by giving researchers the chance to create international collaborations, develop their knowledge and pass on this knowledge to our country’.
