FEMI-NET- EMPOWERMENT, NETWORKING AND ADVOCACY TO DEFEND GENDER RIGHTS

Call: Protecting and Promoting EU rights and values
Project Duration: 8 months
Budget: 56.837,08€
Country: Greece
Location: Athens

The objective of the project is to contribute to the empowerment and support of CSOs in Greece, particularly small-scale organizations operating at the local or impact level. These organizations focus on supporting women, femininities, and LGBTQI+ people, including migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers, and are committed to fighting for gender equality and inclusivity. The goal is to enhance their know-how in advocacy and their supervisory role regarding the application of the Charter of Fundamental Rights. FEMI-NET also aims to facilitate the exchange of good practices and know-how on advocacy through collaboration with European CSOs.

Target groups:

The target groups of the project include, on one hand, individuals (rights defenders) supporting vulnerable populations and human rights, and, on the other hand, members of small/medium-scale Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) working in the social field for gender equality and LGBTQI+ rights. Both groups encompass members of the indigenous population and the migrant/refugee population. They were selected based on relevant research, indicating that they belong to groups either at risk or experiencing ongoing violations of their fundamental rights. The target groups include women, men, and non-binary individuals aged 18 and above.
