GRANT-MAKING OPERATIONS
The Foundation accepts applications for grants from public-law entities and private-law non-profit entities for the following two programmes:
- The ‘Open Grants Programme’, which accepts applications throughout the year submitted by public entities and non-profit organisations, who must use the Foundation’s customised online platform. Priority is given to applications with a budget of up to €5,000. Details about the procedure for the submission & evaluation of grant applications are available here. In 2025, it is not projected that any school requests will be covered by the resources of the ‘Open Grants Programme’, as the Bodossaki Foundation actively supports schools and their students through nationwide educational programs such as “Experience Science” and “Young Business Talents.”
The programme “Experience Science” was created on the initiative of the Foundation to address the critical lack of necessary and modern laboratory teaching equipment for most public schools and is implemented in cooperation with the Panhellenic Association of Heads of Natural Science Centres (PANEKFE), which is responsible for identifying and assessing these needs.
The innovative “Young Business Talents“ programme is a management competition featuring a business simulator that enables participating high school students across the country to gain hands-on experience in entrepreneurship. The goal is to help them develop soft skills, business acumen, and digital competencies through the experiential management of a company. The Bodossaki Foundation supports the programme as its exclusive sponsor, so that it is available free of charge to all high schools in the country.
- The ‘Thematic Grants Programme’ is launching thematic calls for funding to address social needs which have been identified as priority action areas for the coming year. In 2024, following a call for proposals on areas designated as priorities by the Foundation, €250,000 was allocated to programmes focusing on environmental education, the green transition in schools, and health prevention. The open call for proposals for 2025 will be announced shortly.
