The project seeks to empower women and families who have experienced crisis situations, such as natural disasters (floods, fires), poverty or long-term unemployment, with an emphasis on remote parts of Western Greece and Thessaly. It responds to the challenges of social exclusion and limited public participation in decision-making processes by developing tools and networks of participation that take a bottom-up approach. Social gatherings, experiential workshops, and actions in cooperation with Municipal Equality Committees cultivate political literacy and leadership skills in the women and communities, along with their ability to advocate for themselves. Using innovative methodologies such as peer learning, the project strengthens social cohesion, gives a voice to those affected most, and contributes to the creation of an open, inclusive and resilient democracy.
Target groups:
- Women from families in crisis who live in areas affected by recent natural disasters.
- Victims of natural disasters
- Long-term unemployed
