The project focuses on two fundamental human rights protected by the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR): namely, Article 2 (Right to Life) and Article 3 (Prohibition of Torture). By acting as an observatory for the relevant decisions taken by the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), the project seeks both to highlight the Court’s case law in these areas, and to map the gaps and systemic problems in Greece’s compliance over the last 25 years. At the same time, the project will strengthen advocacy by promoting the accountability and transparency of the authorities. In addition, it will contribute to the dissemination and understanding of ECtHR decisions by simplifying them and making them more accessible to the general public.
