The project responds to the need to strengthen transparency, participation and accountability in the field of environmental governance in Greece. The aim of the project is to create a coherent monitoring-evaluation-intervention framework in relation to environmental policies and projects with an impact on the environment – a framework in which the public play an active and decisive role. The project will develop easy-to-use tools (checklists, questionnaires), train citizens through thematic workshops and the digital platform that is to be developed, trigger the establishment of a network of active citizens (“Ecocheckers”), and strengthen the public debate on the need for public participation in environmental policy through communication campaigns.
Target groups: The project is targeted at active citizens, local collectives, Civil Society Organizations, journalists, young people and informal groups who wish to get involved in environmental issues at the local level.
