The aim of the project is to protect and promote the fundamental rights of refugees and migrants, with an emphasis on tackling racist violence and hate crimes and on strengthening social cohesion. The key actions include: a) Providing legal and psychosocial support to victims of hate crimes, b) Empowering and building the capacity of: 1. 1. Professionals in the field in relation to victim identification and support, and 2. Teachers and students in relation to racially-motivated bullying; c) Informing communities about their rights and the protection mechanisms available; d) Raising public awareness of racism issues; e) Strengthening cooperation with the national networks and public bodies that monitor and respond to the phenomenon; f) Developing cooperation and knowledge exchange at European level.
Target groups:
- Refugees and migrants who have suffered racist violence and hate crimes (with a focus on women and LGBTQIA+ people)
- NLA professionals and volunteers, plus workers at the Kavala hosting facility
- Teachers and secondary school students
- The general public
