The project aims to remove a significant barrier that violates the fundamental rights of persons with intellectual disabilities: the absence of a Greek-language version of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) in an easy-to-read format enriched with pictograms. The following activities will be implemented: (a) participatory workshops exploring the understanding of rights and co-creation of educational material with the participation of persons with and without disabilities, (b) capacity-building workshops on the rights of Persons with Disabilities (PwD), (c) capacity-building workshops for the support network, (d) meeting with a European organisation focused on accessibility for persons with disabilities, (e) piloting a ‘Local Advisory Advocacy Group for Persons with Disabilities’, (f) implementation of an information and awareness campaign on disability through local digital platforms, and (g) communication and outreach activities.
Target groups:
• Persons with disabilities (PwD), particularly those with intellectual disabilities
• Special education teachers and support professionals (e.g., psychologists, occupational therapists), families and caregivers of people with disabilities
• Students
• Local authorities and policy makers, CSOs, mass media, and the public
