The project aims to address the identified needs of the target group, specifically children aged 12-18 who face displacement and/or social/educational exclusion. It focuses on enabling active participation and equal access to programs of Democratic Citizenship Education/Human Rights Education (EDC/HRE). The project’s objective is to empower participants by developing skills, resources, and attitudes that support citizenship, ultimately creating a model framework for inclusion.

Target groups:

The main target group of the project is children aged 12-17, with an emphasis on those facing educational or social exclusion and displacement. The focus is on High Schools with Reception Classes and shelters for unaccompanied children in Attica and the Peloponnese. A secondary target group includes the parents/guardians and educators/caretakers of these children. Indirectly, staff from other CSOs and migrant communities will also benefit.

Activities:

  • Implementation of training activities on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and EU values to public elementary schools in Athens and Achaia (including Intercultural Schools and Schools in Zones of Educational Priority- ZEP), in vocational high schools and in special vocational high schools and in Shelters for Unaccompanied Minors) with the participation of 199 children and 44 classroom and support teachers while 121 parents/guardians were informed about the program’s workshops.
  • Development of Training and Educational materials (Multilingual Activity Guides in 5 languages, Digital Photo Album with contributions of the participating children, the Small Guide for Adults in 10 languages, the Multilingual Rights Dictionary with definitions, illustrations and translations of 38 key terms related to human rights by the children who participated in the program and Educational Material with presentations, cards, worksheets that can be reused in relevant actions).
