Eurolife FFH, in partnership with Bodossaki Foundation, supports the work and the students of the Silver & Gold Smithery Public Vocational Training Institute (DIEK) of Stemnitsa. The contribution of Eurolife FFH will cover the costs for the purchase of equipment and the modernization of the School’s workshop, while it will also fund actions to enhance the educational process and the extroversion of the DIEK. Eurolife FGFFH will also support the School’s students, offering to them monthly vouchers for use in local stores, thus also strengthening the local economy.
With the support of Eurolife FFH and through its collaboration with Bodossaki Foundation, the School will be equipped with tools, raw materials, computers, special drawing boards, as well as specialized equipment that will allow jewellery to be digitally designed and will also produce prints of large designs and 3D designs. At the same time, the School will also have the opportunity and the resources to organize annual seminars on specialized techniques employed in the sector, while additional hours of practical training for students will be added on a weekly basis throughout the academic year. Finally, the School will have a new website and its participation in jewellery exhibitions in Greece will be secured.
Located in the mountainous region of Arcadia in central Peloponnese, Stemnitsa is an area in which the art of silver & goldsmithing was particularly developed in contemporary Greece. Since the 1970s, it is also home to the Silver & Gold Smithery School, which today houses the DIEK, whose graduates are excellent craftsmen who keep alive the area’s great tradition. The aim of the programme is to revive Stemnitsa as a silver & gold smithery centre and to support technical education, by providing quality vocational training and job opportunities to individuals wishing to professionally engage in this craft, armed with the significant knowledge and experience they will gain.
For Eurolife FFH, true value lies in supporting initiatives that help people further develop their potential. This is why for this action it chose to join forces with Bodossaki Foundation, for which supporting education at all levels is a long-standing strategic action pillar, aimed at creating equal professional development opportunities for all young persons.
