Announcement of the results of the 6th round of the ‘Points of Support’ programme

In the 6th round of the ‘Points of Support’ programme, the 38 projects that have been selected for funding in 2023-2024 have been announced.

The programme started in 2015 and since then it has financed 119 projects with more than 66,000 beneficiaries. Participating in the 6th round are the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, the TIMA Charitable Foundation, the Bodossaki Foundation, the Captain Vassilis & Carmen Constantakopoulos Foundation, the A. G. Leventis Foundation, the Athanasios C. Laskaridis Charitable Foundation, the Costas M. Lemos Foundation, the KIKPE Social and Cultural Project Foundation, The Hellenic Initiative Canada and the Athena I. Martinou Foundation. The new cycle of the programme is organized by the Bodossaki Foundation.

The objectives of the programme are to support original small-scale projects with maximum social impact, as well as strengthening the structures and developing the capacities of (preferably small and medium-sized) Greek Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), in order to ensure that their work continues to develop and produce results.

The 38 projects that have been selected from a total of 150 candidates will be presented with a grant of up to €5,000 each. The projects will be completed over a period of six months by 49 CSOs, of which 11 are participating in the projects as partners,. Besides the funding, the programme also offers free participation in capacity building activities, which will be designed, financed and implemented by Social Dynamo, the NGO hub of the Bodossaki Foundation.

The following is a detailed list of the organizations selected for funding, listed according to thematic areas designated by each of the donors contributing to the programme:

Ι. ‘Social Integration of People with Disabilities’ (Donor: John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation)

  1. Best Buddies Greece (bestbuddiesgreece.gr)- Staff training and empowerment of people on the autism spectrum in Attica, with the aim of integrating them into the workplace, in collaboration with Tact Hellas Training and Consultation
  1. Traditional Chinese Martial Arts Athletic Association (acharneskungfu.com) – Offering inclusive training and Wushu–Kung Fu classes for children with disabilities, in collaboration with special schools in Attica
  2. Technology without Borders NGO (techwb.org) – Educating the sighted about blindness through a nationwide social media campaign
  3. ALL: Accessible Limitless Living NGO (all.org.gr) – Professional empowerment of disabled people in Thessaloniki, in collaboration with the Social Cooperative for Collective and Social Benefit “Wellbeing, Culture, Art, Tourism, and Disability” (EPTTA).
  4. ‘ESTIA’ Association for the Protection of People with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) (estia-epirus.gr) – Creation of a gym in Ioannina with specialized exercise equipment for children with disabilities
  5. Health Route Social Cooperative (poreia-ygeias.gr) – Developing work readiness and social entrepreneurship skills for people with disabilities in the Magnesia Regional Unit
  6. Equalact Social-Action for the Social Equality of People with Disabilities (facebook.com/Equalactsocial) – Development of innovative urban farming practices for crop production and employment of people with disabilities in Attica, in collaboration with the Community Centre of the Municipality of Papagos-Cholargos
  7. Off Stream – Innovation and Accessibility in Culture – NGO (offstream.org) – Educational activities in museums in Athens and Serres aimed equally at visitors with and without sensory impairment, in collaboration with Smiyl – School of Greek Sign Language

Centre for the Study and Protection of Cultural and Natural Heritage in the Aegean – Virtual Museum of Tinos (tinosvirtualmuseum.gr) – Presentation of the museum’s digital material to senior citizens in Tinos using technological equipment, in collaboration with the Cyclades Pensioners Association – Tinos Branch
  3. Voivis Social Cooperative (www.vvs.gr) – Therapeutic exercise programme aimed at preventing falls among senior citizens in Volos
  4. Greek Association of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders (alzheimer-hellas.gr) – Personalized live music programme aimed at improving the wellbeing of people with dementia in Thessaloniki
  5. Kimolia Social Cooperative (protypo-kallitechniko-ergasteri-kimolia.webnode.gr) – Artistic education, incentivisation and psychological stimulation of senior citizens in Ioannina through musical education activities, drama therapy, theatrical play and storytelling

  2. Association for Research and Education in Clinical Skills – A.R.E.C.S. (arecs.org.gr) – Relief through Art for cancer patients and their attendants in Thessaloniki using virtual reality, in collaboration with the Cancer Guidance Centre – K3
  3. Pan-Cretan Association of Voluntary Blood Donors and Organ Donors – Aimatocritis (aimatocritis.gr) – Raising awareness and empowering blood donors in Crete

  2. Association of Three-Child Families of the Drama Regional Unit (triteknoidrama.blogspot.com) – Information, food distribution and practical workshops for school students in Drama relating to food security, improving nutrition, responsible consumption and combatting poverty

  1. Evolving Cycles NGO (evolvingcycles.com) – Preparation of eco-friendly fertilizers by a Cretan women’s group with the aim of protecting land and water ecosystems

  1. Apano Meria Syros Social Cooperative (apanomeria.org) – Restoration and signposting of a path and its promotion as a hiking route of geological and environmental interest within the Natura 2000 area of Apano Meria on the island of Syros
  2. Zeidoros Social Cooperative (composter.gr) – Reforestation project in the Ymittos forest with the use of soil improver produced by composters that will be installed in kindergartens / primary schools in the Municipality of Agia Paraskevi
  3. Gia ti Fisi’ Social Cooperative (giatifisi.org) – Transplantation of shoots to a burnt forest in Rhodes using handmade wooden pots which will be distributed to schools in Chalki, Symi and Rhodes
  4. Greek Rescuers (rescuegr.gr) – Informing and training the volunteer network of the Municipality of Thessaloniki about measures for preventing and responding to a forest fire and the provision of first aid to burn victims

  1. Society for the Study of Ancient Coastlines ‘AKTES’ (gr) – Flooding scenarios for 2100 with a pilot run in Mykonos and Andros
  2. Greek Association of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders of Chalkida (alzheimer-chalkida.org) – Pilot application of an intergenerational co-creation approach in Limni, Evia, aimed at promoting good participatory practices among young and old in the utilization of cultural heritage
  3. Women Do Business NGO (womendobusiness.eu) – Conducting training seminars to empower and develop entrepreneurship skills for women in Heraklion, Crete
  4. The Future Myth Project NGO (futuremythproject.com) – Creation of a digital artwork dedicated to the protection of the environment by students of Greek border islands
  5. Sports Association of Tilos (facebook.com/actilos) – Motivation of young people from the Tilos local community regarding the historical importance, environmental impact and possible restoration and reuse of drystone structures, in collaboration with COMM’ON NGO
