Announcement of results of the Organisational Development Grants for Organisations active in the field of Gender Equality

The Bodossaki Foundation and Fondation CHANEL are working together again to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in Greece and are announcing the 12 organisations selected to participate in the second cycle of their joint programme after submitting proposals in their open call.

The organisations selected will receive a grant to upgrade their organisational capacity. In addition, grantee organisations will receive a tailored capacity building programme from Social Dynamo, the Bodossaki Foundation’s NGO Hub.

The new three-year partnership between the Bodossaki Foundation and Fondation CHANEL follows on from the Capacity Building Programme for Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) active in the field of gender equality in Greece they launched in 2023, which provided support to 15 CSOs, reaching more than 2,700 direct and 11,000 indirect beneficiaries. Given that Greece is ranked 25th out of 27 EU member states in the 2024 report by the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE), the continuation of this partnership is especially crucial.

Promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women in Greece is of primary importance for the Bodossaki Foundation, as it forms an integral part of its vision of a society of equal opportunities and prospects for all. The Foundation is a member and co-funder of the Alliance for Gender Equality in Europe, the first and only collaborative fund dedicated to advancing progress toward gender equality across the continent. The Alliance provides opportunities for funding, training, networking and synergy between key actors in the field of philanthropy. The Foundation has also supported Greece’s General Secretariat of Family Policy and Gender Equality and implemented initiatives to promote gender equality in the workplace.

Fondation CHANEL supports the freedom of women and girls to shape their own destiny. Over the last 14 years, it has developed a highly effective philanthropic approach which has directly impacted over 9 million women globally. The Foundation believes that those closest to the issues are best suited to developing the solutions. This guiding principle is reflected in the Foundation’s long-term relationships with partners as well as its offer of support to strengthen their operational capacity and amplify their voices. Fondation CHANEL has actively pursued partnerships in Greece since 2015.
