The project’s overall aim is to empower people with mental illness who are living in mental health facilities by cultivating awareness of their rights and empowering them to assert them. Through specially designed experiential storytelling workshops, participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences; to process personal and collective memory; to realize the value of their experience; and to strengthen their presence in society. The project also sets out to raise the awareness of caregivers and mental health professionals, and to train them in the methodology of storytelling as a tool for empathy and therapeutic support.
