\"\"Pavlos Eleftheriadis is an academic lawyer specialising in public law and the philosophy of law. He has written widely on constitutional law, European law and jurisprudence.\u00a0 He is the author of Legal Rights<\/em>\u00a0(Oxford University Press, 2008) and\u00a0A Union of Peoples: Europe as a Community of Princple\u00a0<\/em>(Oxford University Press, 2020), the co-editor of The Philosophical Foundations of EU Law<\/em> (Oxford University Press, 2012) and of many other studies in jurisprudence and public law, including essays on the idea of sovereignty, on the constitutional theory of the United Kingdom, on the right to health and the theory of rights.<\/p>\n

Before joining NYU he was a Professor of Public Law at the University of Oxford, where he taught for twenty years as a Fellow and Tutor in Law at Mansfield College Oxford. Many of his doctoral students are currently full-time academics around the world, including in the UK, Australia, Chile and Greece.<\/p>\n

He practices as a barrister in European and human rights law from Francis Taylor Building in London and has appeared before the High Court, the Court of Appeal and the Court of Justice of the European Union.<\/p>\n

He is a frequent commentator on public affairs in the press. His articles have appeared in the Financial Times<\/em>, Politico<\/em>, Wall Street Journal<\/em>, The Telegraph<\/em> and many other publications, including Greek newspapers and magazines.<\/p>\n

He was educated at the Varvakeios School in Athens, at the University of Athens (BA 1990) and the University of Cambridge (LLM, 1991, PhD, 1995).<\/p>\n
