Professor of Chemical Engineering, National Technical University of Athens, Member of the Academy of Athens<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"Doros Theodorou is professor of Materials Science and Engineering in the School of Chemical Engineering at NTUA.\u00a0 He has served as professor at the Universities of California, Berkeley (1986-1995) and Patras (1991-2002) and as collaborating researcher at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, ICEHT\/FORTH, and NCSR \u201cDemokritos\u201d.<\/p>\n

His research interests include molecular and multiscale simulation of matter, thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, polymer and interface science. His group develops new computational methods and algorithms for understanding and predicting structure-property relations in materials.<\/p>\n

He is a member of the US National Academy of Engineering and recipient of the NSF Presidential Young Investigator Award, the European Materials Medal, the DSM Lifetime Achievement Award, the Guggenheim Medal \u03ba\u03b1\u03b9 the FOMMS Medal, among others.<\/p>\n

He has authored two books, 201 research articles, and 33 book chapters and review articles.\u00a0 He has supervised 43 doctoral theses and 27 post-doctoral associates. He has represented Greece to the mobility of researchers program of the EU (1995-2004), has served as member of the National Council of Research and Technology of Greece (2010-2013, 2020-2023) and as panel member of the European Research Council (ERC).<\/p>\n

He holds a Diploma (1982) from NTUA and Master\u2019s (1983) and Ph.D. (1985) degrees from MIT, all in Chemical Engineering.<\/p>\n

In 1996 he was awarded the Bodossaki Science Prize in Chemistry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
