From early on, long before he settled in Greece, Bodossakis had become actively engaged in public benefit work. In 1919, he made a grant to the Municipality of Heraklion, Crete, for the construction of a school. The 2nd Primary School of Heraklion, Crete, is housed to this day in the building that was built with that grant, which was named “Bodossakeio” in honour of its benefactor.

The school building is a typical architectural example of its time, as the pioneering principles of modernism were already followed in Heraklion at the time of its construction.
